Welcome to my website! Join me on an extraordinary journey through my experiences in the Criminal Justice system. Over the past two decades, my life has traversed diverse realms, from the captivating world of dance, where I traveled the globe, to the dark corners of addiction, crime, and incarceration. Today, I stand before you as a testament to transformation, resilience, and the power of redemption.
For twenty years, I immersed myself in the art of dance, finding solace and expression on stages around the world. However, fate had other plans, and a debilitating injury shattered my dreams, leaving me lost and searching for an escape from the pain. In the depths of despair, I turned to drugs and the dangerous path of dealing to make ends meet. This decision led me down a treacherous road, one that ultimately led to my incarceration in men's maximum-security prison.
It was within those prison walls that my true journey of self-discovery began. Stripped of my freedom, I found an opportunity for reflection, growth, and a chance to confront the demons that had plagued my life. I dedicated myself to personal development, seeking knowledge, and acquiring new skills that would allow me to rebuild my life upon release.
My last two years were spent in an environment far removed from the grand theatres and bright spotlights I once knew. I was assigned to work in the aged and frail unit of the prison, assisting 26 inmates who were deemed too dangerous for the community and hence, were never to be released. They were the most vulnerable, yet the most feared. Each day, I helped these men with the simplest tasks — filling forms, getting dressed, navigating their daily lives.
Being openly gay, I faced initial resistance from these hardened criminals. However, they had no choice but to accept my assistance. Over time, the resentment and suspicion turned into begrudging acceptance. Their acceptance, though, was not my primary concern. I was there to do my job, not seeking validation from these cunning, psychopathic, cold-blooded killers.
In the quiet corners of the prison, I bore witness to their bedside confessions. For reasons unknown, they trusted me. They shared secrets, stories of their 'glory days' when they believed themselves to be invincible. It was a chilling insight into the minds of men who had strayed far from the path of righteousness.
Throughout my time behind bars, I chronicled my experiences, thoughts, and emotions through writing. This website serves as a collection of that profound and raw storytelling. Here, you will find a multimedia platform where I share my personal reflections, publish riveting articles, and delve into the depths of the criminal justice system. It is my hope that by sharing my story, I can shed light on the complexities and challenges faced by those entangled in the criminal justice system, while inspiring others to embrace the power of transformation and second chances.
Join me as we explore the intricate web of the justice system, examine the flaws that perpetuate its cycle, and envision a future where compassion, understanding, and rehabilitation take precedence. Through my writing, I aim to ignite conversations, challenge preconceptions, and foster a greater sense of empathy within our society.
